REYNARD
Aging, reluctant Rylian Ruler of Tylo, who fought for decades to regain his family's throne after they were all murdered by Nammar usurpers, aided by the Muju. The only reason he escaped the slaughter was because he was...well... away at the time, and the only reason he finally won his war was because of unexpected help that came from afar just in the nick of time.

DANIEL JIN-SOON (aka Dan Jenson)
Son of the former Nammar rulers of Tylo, who lost his chance to rule when his parents were over thrown and executed by Reynard and his alien offspring. He himself and his Muju Zin guide Damuun were exiled at the same time. But, years later, they escaped.

ZIN-DAMUUN
One of the last of the dreaded Muju Zin lords, sold-out ministers of mayhem, who derive Rylian-like power from their fanatical devotion to evil and the Spirit that generates it. Years of war with Reynard's Rylians and infighting amongst themselves have left their ranks severely depleted. But for Damuun, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

ISA LARAN
Greenling, or guardian, of Tylo's vast Dark Woods, and a staunch ally of Reynard and the Rylians. She, like all greenlings, has the ability to morph her body from her natural, fairy-like size into a larger form, but the real power of this pixie is in the smaller package; power to breathe instant life into any tree or plant, and also to breathe...well...something else into her enemies. Fiercely loyal, a passionate believer in all things good, this is one mighty mite that you want on your side when things get rough.

ZEJA
A pure-bred, domesticated moglin, one of several intelligent animal species on Tylo and the premiere guard animal of the planet. Huge. wolf-like, and devastatingly ferocious in natural form, it also has the ability to morph into other animate life forms at will. Most, like Zeja, adopt a human form that is pleasing or useful to their human masters. Because of centuries of domestication, pure-bred moglins have few survival skills and are dependent both instinctively and literally on their masters. Daniel Jin-Soon has been Zeja's master since the beginning, but there was, for a brief, wonderful few years, another master as well, one who showed her a very different way...

RAVIN KIL-JOI
A loud-mouthed, swashbuckling Rylian pirate, a soul-less mercenary who would have murdered his own mother if the price was right (and he knew who she was) until one job, a kidnapping from a planet called Earth, changed his life and ways forever. At least, most of his ways...
