Tinn Man #1: Dan Hogan’s First Print Series
Published By Atlantis Studios
February 27, 2006
Suwanee, GA – After years of producing unique and dynamic science
fiction comics for the web, Atlantis Studios announced today the
first publication of “Tinn Man #1” the first original print series
by prolific artist and writer Daniel Hogan. The first issue of the
three-part mini-series will be available to comic book retailers for
pre-order in March, and will ship worldwide in April 2006.
The series follows the adventures of Victoria Bernelli, a talented
A.I. programmer who uncovers the truth about her corrupt and
murderous employer. She hides his secrets within the steel-encased
body of a robot she has programmed to protect her: TINN MAN, her
relentless bodyguard, companion, and friend. Running for her life,
Victoria discovers more than she expected to about her corrupt
employer, her robotic protector, and herself.
“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to present Daniel
to an audience who may be unaware of his incredible talent” said
James Watson, Atlantis Studios owner and Editor-in-Chief. “Our
publishing focus is showcasing up-and-coming talent and great comics
for general audiences. Tinn Man is a story that has something for
everyone!”
Daniel Hogan is no stranger to the world of comics. He first worked
as a penciller for Shadow Comix, starting in 1996. His first
published art was "Darkblade", a short back up story in Shadow Comix
Presents #1. In 1999, he graduated with a degree in Physics and
created www.utopolice.com, a website for an online sci-fi comic that
has been up and running ever since. His influences range from
Michelangelo to Norman Rockwell, vintage pin-up artist Gil Elvgren,
anime such as Samurai Champloo, manga such as G.T.O. Great Teacher
Onizuka, and contemporary comic artists Frank Miller, Scott
McDaniel, Joshua Middleton, and Frank Cho. He currently lives in
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii with his wife and two children.
“This is a story I’ve always wanted to tell” said Daniel in a recent
interview, “Action, adventure, a cute girl, and a robot – what more
could you ask for in a comic?”. Dan is already hard at work on
completing the mini-series, with production of Issue #2 and #3
currently underway, with tentative release dates planned for this
summer.
